Threaded Commenting!!!

I just posted like... 2 hours ago or something? But something amazing just happened and if you don't know, I want to tell you!

Blogger just introduced threaded commenting!! So now when someone asks you a question, you can answer them specifically and directly so your response makes more sense and doesn't get lost in the craziness!!

Here is an example!

Pretty sweet! Also that comment back was incredibly long... geez louise.

Can you see this making a difference to your blog? I so can! Props to Hadar for commenting so I could learn this awesome thing!!

  1. Do you have to do anything special to get this feature? I've been trying to figure how to respond directly to people's comments all morning. well not all morning but I was thinking about it. Thanks

    1. In the link to the Blogger article that I posted, they have screenshots of the little boxes that need to be checked to make sure that it is there. Mine was already set but I never changed any settings for my comments. I hope you can make it work soon!!

  2. That's cool! Do you know if it notifies people that you responded or do they still have to subscribe by email? Do I have to go in to the settings and turn it on?

Thanks for sharing!!! Now you can leave a threaded comment to answer me! :)

    1. Yay!

You still have to subscribe by email to know if you got a comment back... I feel like if someone replies to you, you should automatically be notified!! But I don't work for Blogger, haha.

    5. Haha, Kristen!!!! You are supposed to know how that line got there, not me!! It just showed up one day! I guess so you know when the thread ends and a new one begins?

  4. I've always used a free thread commenting program called Disqus. It works the same way. Good to see that Blogger is jumping on board! Makes it so much easier!

    1. I wonder if it's because you have a pop-up box for commenting. My settings is "embedded" so it's just on the page. Just a thought! :)

  10. Hi Jill! I found you through Ladybug. I was also trying to figure this out. I followed all of Blogger's directions, but it just isn't working for me. Hmmm. I will figure it out somehow. Just want to say what a beautiful, helpful blog you have here! I am now a follower. =) I am currently trying to get my new blog up off the ground. So many things to learn...sheesh. :)

    Take care!
